Pune to Trimbakeshwar cab service

Trimbakeshwar is 249 km from Pune, about five hours through Nashik. It is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas, the source of the Godavari, and the only place in India where Narayan Nagbali puja is performed.

That last point changes how most people book this route, so it comes first.

Narayan Nagbali: This Is a Three-Day Trip

If you are coming for Narayan Nagbali, Kaal Sarp Shanti or Tripindi Shraddha, you are not making a day trip. These pujas run over three days and cannot be shortened.

What to sort out before you book a cab:

  • Book your priest first. The puja has to start on specific tithis, and the dates are fixed by the panchang, not by your convenience.
  • Arrange accommodation in Trimbak for three nights. The town is small and fills up completely on auspicious dates.
  • Then book the cab. Most people take a drop, stay for the puja, and book a return separately — that works out cheaper than keeping a car parked for three days.

Tell us at booking that it is for Nagbali. Our drivers on this route know the town and where to drop for the puja area, which saves you a confused twenty minutes on arrival.

For Darshan Alone

If you are only coming for Jyotirlinga darshan, this works as a two-day trip rather than one. Five hours each way is ten hours of driving, and doing that plus a darshan queue in a single day is punishing.

The comfortable version:

  • Day 1 — leave Pune early, reach by mid-afternoon, darshan in the evening, stay at Nashik or Trimbak
  • Day 2 — early morning darshan when the temple is quiet, then drive back

Nashik is 28 km away and has far better hotels than Trimbak, which is why most people stay there.

Route and Travel Time

Pune → Chakan → Sangamner → Nashik → Trimbakeshwar on NH-60.

  • Distance — 249 km
  • Pune to Nashik — about four hours
  • Nashik to Trimbakeshwar — around 45 minutes on a smaller road
  • Total — about five hours

Leave before 7 AM to clear the Chakan industrial stretch, which is worth 30 to 40 minutes on a weekday.

At the Temple

  • The linga has three faces — Brahma, Vishnu and Mahesh — which makes it unlike any other Jyotirlinga
  • Abhishek is performed by appointment; arrange it in advance if you want it
  • Kushavarta Kund — the sacred tank near the temple, considered the source of the Godavari
  • Mondays are busiest, and Shravan Mondays and Mahashivratri bring very large crowds
  • Dress conservatively; footwear is left outside
  • Phones and cameras are restricted inside the sanctum

Temple timings and puja arrangements change from time to time. Check the current schedule if you are planning the day around a specific ritual.

Which Car to Book

Nagbali brings whole families together, so tempo travellers are common on this route. Book early on auspicious dates.

Nearby

  • Brahmagiri Hill — the source of the Godavari, about 700 steps up. Allow three hours.
  • Anjaneri — believed to be Hanuman's birthplace, 7 km away
  • Nashik — 28 km, with Ramkund, Kalaram Temple and the vineyards
  • Saptashrungi — 60 km from Nashik, one of the Shakti Peethas
  • Shirdi — 120 km, and commonly combined with this trip

Combining with Other Jyotirlingas

Trimbakeshwar is one of Maharashtra's five Jyotirlingas:

Combining is considerably cheaper per temple than separate trips, and you keep the same car and driver throughout.

Best Time to Go

October to March is the most comfortable. Shravan Mondays and Mahashivratri are the most significant and by far the most crowded — the town fills completely and darshan queues run for hours.

For Nagbali, the dates are set by the panchang rather than the season, so book whenever your priest advises and plan around the crowd.

What Is Included

  • Car, driver and fuel
  • 249 km included on a one-way drop
  • Driver details by SMS before pickup
  • Drinking water
  • GST invoice on request

Toll and parking are not included. They are charged at actual cost and shown separately on your bill. Puja charges and accommodation are arranged by you.

Booking

Call +91-8466847272. Tell us whether it is darshan or Nagbali — the two need completely different bookings, and we will quote the right one.

Book a week ahead for auspicious dates and Shravan. A tempo traveller for a family group needs two to three weeks in that season.

Questions

Pune to Trimbakeshwar — your questions

What is the Pune to Trimbakeshwar cab fare?

A one-way drop starts at Rs 4,233 for a Wagon R and rises by car type. All fares include 249 km, fuel and driver. Toll and parking are charged at actual cost and shown separately.

How long does Pune to Trimbakeshwar take?

About five hours for 249 km. Pune to Nashik is roughly four hours on NH-60, and Nashik to Trimbakeshwar another 45 minutes. Leave before 7 AM to clear the Chakan traffic.

How many days does Narayan Nagbali puja take?

Three days, and it cannot be shortened. Book your priest first since the puja must start on specific tithis, then arrange accommodation in Trimbak, then book the cab.

Should I book a drop or keep the car for Nagbali?

A drop, then book a separate return. Keeping a car parked for three days costs more than two one-way bookings, and you will not need it during the puja.

Can I do Trimbakeshwar darshan in one day from Pune?

It is possible but hard — five hours each way plus a darshan queue makes for a very long day. Two days with a night at Nashik is far more comfortable, and lets you take early morning darshan when the temple is quiet.

Where should I stay, Trimbak or Nashik?

Nashik, 28 km away, has far better hotels. Trimbak is a small town that fills completely on auspicious dates, though staying there suits a Nagbali booking.

Which day is most crowded at Trimbakeshwar?

Mondays, and Shravan Mondays and Mahashivratri bring very large crowds with queues running for hours. A weekday visit outside festival season is a completely different experience.

Can I combine Trimbakeshwar with Shirdi or Nashik?

Yes. Nashik is 28 km and Shirdi 120 km, and both combine naturally into a two or three-day circuit. Combining is cheaper than separate trips and you keep the same car and driver.

Which car suits a family group coming for Nagbali?

A tempo traveller. Nagbali is usually a joint family occasion, and 13 to 20 seaters cost less per head than three cars. Book two to three weeks ahead on auspicious dates.

Are toll and parking included in the fare?

No. Fuel and driver are included in the quoted fare. Toll and parking are charged at actual cost and shown separately. Puja charges and accommodation are arranged by you.
