Almost nobody goes to Pawna Lake to look at it and come back. They go to camp — lakeside tents, a bonfire, and a sunrise over the water with Tikona and Lohagad forts on the skyline.

Two things worth knowing before you decide to "sort out transport there":
There is no transport at the lake. Campsites sit on the far side around Pawnanagar, Thakursai and Kadadhe. No autos, no buses, and app cabs do not come out that far. If your drop leaves and you have not arranged the return, you are stuck.
Phone signal is patchy. Arrange the pickup time with your driver before he leaves, not by calling him the next morning from a tent.

On a one-way drop the driver travels 55 km with you and then 110 km empty — back to Pune with no passenger, from a place where he will not find a return fare. You are effectively paying for the round distance, which is why short routes carry a minimum fare instead of a straight per-kilometre rate.
If you want the car with you for the day — the lake, Tikona Fort, Lohagad, Lonavala on the way back — ask for a full-day quote instead. It costs more than the drop but far less than two drops, and you are not stranded between stops.

Camping means bags, coolers and sometimes your own tents. Book a size up from what you would take for a normal day trip.
Weekends in season book out weeks ahead at the campsites, and the road gets busy on Saturday afternoons. A weekday trip is a completely different experience.
A full-day booking lets you do the lake plus one fort comfortably. Two forts is ambitious with a group.
