If your destination is Thane, do not book a Pune to Mumbai cab. Thane is 145 km from Pune, eleven kilometres closer than Mumbai city, and you reach it without ever entering the Mumbai traffic that makes the last hour of that drive so slow.
A one-way drop starts at ₹2,500, with fuel and driver included and no return charge.
People often book a Pune to Mumbai cab and then ask the driver to stop at Thane. That costs more and takes longer than it needs to.
The expressway ends at Panvel, and from there Thane is a straightforward run on the Eastern Express Highway. Going into Mumbai proper means Sion, Dadar and whatever the traffic is doing that day — often an extra hour for the last fifteen kilometres.
Same logic applies for Kalyan, Dombivli, Mumbra and Bhiwandi. If that is where you are going, book that route directly.
Pune → Lonavala → Khopoli → Panvel → Thane
Evening peak is the slow one. Leaving Pune after 4 PM on a weekday means arriving in the middle of Thane's rush hour. Mornings and late nights are considerably quicker.
Anywhere in Thane district, door to door:
Fares vary slightly by drop point since the distance changes. The figure you see before booking is what you pay.
A one-way drop charges only for the direction you travel, which is right for relocations, one-side business trips and anyone being picked up at the other end.
If you are returning within a day or two, ask for a round trip quote — it usually costs less than two separate one-way bookings, and the same driver stays with you. See outstation cab booking in Pune and one way taxi in Pune.
Going further than Thane? See Pune to Mumbai, Borivali, Andheri and Bandra.
For a flight out of Mumbai, book Pune to Mumbai Airport directly — it is a different drop point and a different fare.
Toll and parking are charged at actual cost and shown separately. The expressway toll applies on this route.

An hour or two is usually enough notice on a weekday. Book a day ahead for Friday evenings and Sunday returns, which are the busiest slots in both directions.

A one-way drop starts at Rs 2,500 for a Wagon R, Rs 2,596 for a Swift Dzire or Aura, Rs 3,400 for an Ertiga and Rs 5,365 for an Innova Crysta. All include 145 km, fuel and driver. Toll and parking are charged at actual cost.
145 km via the Mumbai-Pune Expressway, about three hours. The expressway stretch takes roughly two hours, and Panvel to Thane adds 45 minutes to an hour depending on the time of day.
Book Thane directly if that is your destination. It is 11 km closer, cheaper, and you avoid entering Mumbai city traffic, which often adds an hour for the last fifteen kilometres.
Mornings and late nights are quickest. Leaving after 4 PM on a weekday means arriving in the middle of Thane's evening rush hour.
All of Thane district, door to door — Thane West, Ghodbunder Road, Hiranandani Estate, Wagle Estate, Kalwa, Mumbra, Dombivli, Bhiwandi and Kalyan. Fares vary slightly by drop point.
Yes, if you are returning within a day or two. The same driver stays with you, so you are not rebooking at the other end.
Yes. Thane is a regular weekday run for us, and we bill corporate clients monthly with GST invoices and a named point of contact.
A sedan for four passengers with two suitcases, which is the usual choice. An Ertiga for six, or for a family relocating with heavy bags. An Innova Crysta for client travel.
No. Fuel and driver are included in the quoted fare. Toll and parking are charged at actual cost and shown separately on your bill.
Cancellation more than five hours before pickup is free, with a full refund of the Rs 500 advance. Within five hours the advance is forfeited, and nothing beyond that is charged.
