3 Jyotirlinga Tour Package from Pune — 3 Days by Cab

3 Jyotirlinga Tour Package from Pune — 3 Days by Cab

Maharashtra holds three of the twelve Jyotirlingas, and all three are reachable from Pune in a single three-day circuit. Bhimashankar in the Sahyadris, Trimbakeshwar near Nashik, and Grishneshwar beside the Ellora caves — roughly 900 kilometres of driving, comfortably spread across three days with proper darshan time at each.

Kad Cabs runs this 3 Jyotirlinga tour package from Pune as a private cab tour with your own car and driver throughout.

The Three Temples

Bhimashankar Jyotirlinga — 124 km from Pune

Set deep in the Sahyadri hills and surrounded by dense forest, Bhimashankar is the closest Jyotirlinga to Pune and the source of the Bhima river. The approach is through ghat roads that are genuinely beautiful and genuinely narrow — one of the reasons a driver who knows the route matters here. See Pune to Bhimashankar cabs.

Trimbakeshwar Jyotirlinga — near Nashik

The linga here has three faces representing Brahma, Vishnu and Mahesh, which makes it unlike any other Jyotirlinga. Trimbakeshwar is also the source of the Godavari, and is known for Abhishek and Narayan Nagbali puja — if you plan to perform either, book the puja separately and allow extra time. See Pune to Trimbakeshwar cabs.

Grishneshwar Jyotirlinga — near Aurangabad

The twelfth and final Jyotirlinga, built in traditional South Indian style, sitting a short distance from the Ellora caves. Dress codes here are enforced more strictly than at the other two, so dress conservatively. See Pune to Grishneshwar cabs.

Three-Day Itinerary

Day 1 — Pune to Bhimashankar, overnight Nashik

Early morning pickup from your address in Pune. The drive to Bhimashankar takes you through the ghats, and an early start means darshan before the crowd builds. After darshan and lunch nearby, we continue to Nashik for the night.

Day 2 — Trimbakeshwar, overnight near Grishneshwar

Morning darshan at Trimbakeshwar, with time for Abhishek if you have arranged it. After lunch we drive towards Aurangabad, taking breaks along the way. Overnight near Grishneshwar.

Day 3 — Grishneshwar and return

Early morning darshan at Grishneshwar. If you have time and interest, the Ellora caves are close enough to add here. After lunch, the return drive to Pune with rest stops.

Distances

  • Pune to Bhimashankar — around 124 km
  • Bhimashankar to Trimbakeshwar — around 240 km
  • Trimbakeshwar to Grishneshwar — around 200 km
  • Grishneshwar back to Pune — around 300 km

Roughly 900 km in total, which is a comfortable three-day load with halts.

What the Package Includes

Included:

  • Private car with driver for all three days
  • Fuel, tolls and parking
  • Pickup and drop at your Pune address
  • Flexible sightseeing stops along the route
  • Driver allowance

Not included:

  • Hotel accommodation
  • Temple entry and puja charges
  • Meals and personal expenses
  • Guide services

We leave hotels to you deliberately — pilgrims have strong preferences about where they stay near temples, and budgets vary widely.

Tour Cost

The fare depends on the car you choose and the season. A sedan suits a family of four; an SUV is better for six or for the ghat sections; a tempo traveller works out cheaper per head for larger groups. The quote includes driver allowance, fuel and road taxes, and is given in full before you book.

Vehicle options: Swift Dzire, Ertiga, Innova Crysta and tempo travellers for Jyotirlinga tours.

Best Time to Go

October to March has the most pleasant weather and is the easiest driving. The monsoon makes the Bhimashankar approach spectacularly green but the ghat roads demand real care — go with a driver who has done them before, or not at all.

Shravan and Mahashivratri carry the greatest spiritual significance and the largest crowds. We run tours through the peak season, but book well ahead and expect longer darshan queues.

Travel Tips

  • Dress traditionally but comfortably — you will be in the car for hours between temples
  • Carry government ID
  • Reach temples early; the difference between 6 AM and 9 AM is often two hours of queue
  • Carry basic medicines and essentials
  • Mobile signal is patchy around Bhimashankar

Considering the Five-Temple Circuit?

If you have five days, the Panch Jyotirlinga tour over 4 nights and 5 days adds Aundha Nagnath and Parli Vaijnath to these three. See also Pune to Panch Jyotirlinga by taxi.
