People go to Nashik for three quite different reasons, and the right booking is different for each.
It is 220 km from Pune on NH-60, about four hours. A one-way drop starts at ₹3,639.
Nashik is India's wine capital, and every vineyard worth visiting runs tastings — Sula, Grover Zampa, York, Soma, Vallonne.
Tasting and driving do not go together. This is the one route where having a driver is not a convenience, it is the reason to book at all.
Practical points:
Trimbakeshwar Jyotirlinga is 28 km from Nashik, and a large share of our bookings on this route are going there rather than to Nashik city.

In Nashik city itself: Ramkund on the Godavari, Kalaram Temple, Muktidham, Kapaleshwar and Naroshankar. Saptashrungi is 60 km further and involves a climb or a funicular.

For a vineyard day, an SUV is worth it. You will be in and out of the car at every stop, and the roads between vineyards are not all smooth.

About four hours for 220 km on NH-60 via Chakan, Sangamner and Sinnar. Leaving before 7 AM saves you the Chakan industrial traffic, which is worth 30 to 40 minutes on a weekday.
Keep the car. The vineyards are spread across 25 km around Gangapur Dam with no transport between them, and after a tasting you should not be driving anyway. A drop leaves you stuck at the first winery.
Two or three comfortably. Four is optimistic once you account for the driving between them and the time each tasting takes.
January to March, during grape harvest. It is also the busiest season, so book the vineyards themselves in advance, particularly Sula on weekends.
